Introduction
At Capital Athletics, we offer a clear and supportive coaching pathway with entry points suited to all levels of experience.
A great way to begin is by completing the Age Manager Online Training Course. This provides the perfect introduction to supporting children at the club level while learning the fundamentals of coaching in a fun, supportive environment.
From there, the Introduction to Little Athletics Skills (ITLAS) workshop is the next step. This course focuses on practical, skill-based activities and foundational coaching techniques, giving you confidence to deliver engaging sessions.
If you’re ready to take the next step towards formal accreditation, you can begin with a Level 1 Youth Coach, level 2 Development Coach or Level1 Recreational Running Coach through Australian Athletics. These one-day courses are open to everyone, with no prior experience required, and introduce the core principles of effective coaching.
The Capital Athletics Coaching Pathway is designed to support you at every stage. Whether you’re guiding beginners or helping athletes reach elite performance, we provide the knowledge, resources, and opportunities to continually develop and refine your coaching practice.
