Records
If you believe you’ve equalled or broken a Capital Athletics record, congratulations! Now let’s make sure it’s recognised.
To have your performance considered, you’ll need to lodge a Record Application with the Capital Athletics Records Officer using the official form. Be sure to include any supporting documents that help verify your result.
When and How to Apply
-
Championship Events (Underage, U20–Open, Combined Event Championships):
All results from Capital Athletics Championship events are reviewed for potential Residential and All Comers records. While this process helps us catch most record-breaking performances, we strongly encourage athletes to submit a Record Application Form if they believe they have set a record — just to make sure it isn’t missed. -
Other Events (e.g. Summer Series, Interclub, non-championship meets):
If your performance was achieved outside of a championship event, you must complete and submit a Record Application Form within 28 days of the performance.
What Counts?
-
Residential Records – Can be broken anywhere in the world, as long as you’re a registered member of a Capital Athletics club.
-
All Comers Records – Can be set by any athlete competing at an event held within the ACT, regardless of where they’re from.
If we require additional information to validate your performance, you’ll need to provide it within the timeframe specified — either within seven days of the request or within six months of the date of performance (whichever comes first). If this information isn’t received in time, the application may lapse.
