Overview

The 2025 Capital Athletics Cross Country Championships welcomes athletes of all ages and abilities, including Multi Class and Masters categories. Conducted under World Athletics and Little Athletics Australia regulations (as applicable), this championship event is one of the highlights of the distance running calendar in the ACT.

Athletes must compete in their correct age group, based on year of birth. Events are conducted under World Athletics and Little Athletics Australia rules, as applicable.

NEW: Club Relay Event 

We’re excited to include a 4 x 1000m Cross Country Club Relay as part of the day’s program

  • Teams are encouraged to be made up of members from the same club, including both registered competing and community members.

  • Composite teams (from different clubs) will be accepted to support participation.

  • There are no age or gender restrictions—clubs are encouraged to get creative and inclusive with team composition.

  • This is a non-championship event – no medals will be awarded.

Registration for relay teams will be coordinated directly through clubs. More information will be emailed to club contacts and posted on the Capital Athletics website closer to the event.


 

Eligibility

  • Athletes must be registered and financial with Capital Athletics, Australian Athletics, Little Athletics Australia, Australian Masters Athletics, or a World Athletics-affiliated club.

  • Athletes must compete in their own age group – no exceptions.

  • Para athletes must have at least a Provisional Classification.

  • Para athletes cannot compete in both able-bodied and Para events in the same age group.


 

Online Entry

  • Fees: $15.00 (U10) / $30.00 (U11+)

  • Closes: 12:00pm, Tuesday 24 June 2025

  • Late entries will not be accepted – plan ahead and register early.

Check-In & Bib Collection

  • Check-in closes 45 minutes before your race.

  • No call room – report to the start line 10 minutes prior.

  • Competition bib and club uniform (with age patch) must be worn.

 


 

Medals & Awards

Medals awarded to:

  • Top 3 finishers in each event

  • Top 3 Capital Athletics athletes (if not among the overall top 3)

  • Top 3 para athletes overall and top 3 CA-registered para athletes

Note: Medals will not be awarded for the Club Relay event.


 

Multi-Class & Para Events

  • Multi-Class events are offered for U6–U9 and U13–Open.

  • Events run alongside able-bodied age races.

  • All Para events are ranked using Baseline.
