Event Overview
The Capital Athletics Road Race Championships are a highlight of the winter season, offering athletes the opportunity to compete for championship honours over 5 km and 10 km distances. Delivered in conjunction with Canberra Runners, the event features a mixed-sex 5 km race for U14, U16, U18, and U20 age groups, alongside a 10 km open championship for athletes turning 16 or older in 2025. A non-championship 2 km support race and an open division of the 5 km are also included to ensure wide participation.
Whether you're targeting a podium spot or simply looking to test yourself against the best, the Championships offer a competitive yet welcoming race day atmosphere for all.
Entry Information
- Entry: Entries will be accepted online in advance and in person on the day of competition, subject to availability.
- Entries Close: Friday, 18 July at 4:00pm
- Entry Fee: Entry fees are $5 for online entry and $5 for on-the-day entry.
- Eligibility: Athletes must be registered with Capital Athletics, another state/territory athletics body affiliated with Australian Athletics, or an overseas federation affiliated with World Athletics.

Athlete Information
- Check-In: Must be completed at least 15 minutes before race start.
- Uniforms: All athletes must wear their approved club uniform. Open athletes needing to wear a sponsor uniform under WA TR5.1 must contact CA in advance.
- Facilities: Limited facilities at this venue so please come prepared.
- Parking & Access: Free parking is available along Menindee Drive.
