Become a Qualified Technical Official – Free Training Day
We're excited to invite you to a free, face-to-face Technical Official Training Day – a fantastic opportunity for anyone interested in getting involved in athletics officiating. Whether you're a coach, parent, athlete, volunteer, or simply passionate about athletics, this is your chance to become a nationally recognised Core Technical Official and contribute to the success of events at all levels.
Open to individuals aged 13 and over (turning 14 within the year), becoming a technical official at Capital Athletics is a great way to stay involved in the sport, develop valuable skills, and earn some extra income. Whether you're an athlete looking to give back, a student wanting flexible weekend work, or someone passionate about athletics, officiating offers a rewarding and practical way to stay connected and contribute to the sport.
What’s Included
This face-to-face session covers the key disciplines of athletics officiating, delivered by experienced and accredited presenters. By the end of the day, you’ll have the knowledge and practical understanding to officiate across a variety of athletics events.

9:00 AM – 12:00 PM | Jumps Officiating

Breaks:
Light refreshments provided or BYO lunch – please take your break as appropriate between sessions.
Throughout the day, participants will engage in a mix of theory and hands-on practical learning, with plenty of opportunity to ask questions, work in groups, and apply new knowledge in a friendly and supportive environment.
Participants are welcome to register for either the full day or specific event sessions. Please note: if you choose to attend the Track Officiating session, this will be a stand-alone option due to timing overlap. However, if you wish to attend both the Jumps and Throws sessions, you are welcome to register for both. Be sure to select the appropriate sessions when completing your registration.
