2026/2027 Capital Athletics Road Race Championships

Event Overview

Capital Athletics is immensely proud to announce the inaugural 2026/2027 CA Road Race Championships. This event is a brand new inclusion on the Capital Athletics Winter program and one that cannot be missed. On a certified course courtesy of World Athletics and the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), this event provides athletes to compete in one of the only World Athletics certified road running events offered in the ACT.

This exciting event will also offer prize money for select races, further promoting the high-octane atmosphere we expect to see. It provides athletes with the opportunity to blaze a new trail in Capital Athletics history and set the standards for an exciting new event for years to come. See below for more information. 

Eligibility

Athletes must be:

• Registered and financial 2026/2027 members of a Capital Athletics member club, an Australian Athletics-affiliated club, a Little Athletics Australia-affiliated club, or a World Athletics-affiliated overseas club.

• Athletes must compete in their own age group – no exceptions.

• Para athletes must have at least a Provisional Classification and cannot compete in both able-bodied and Para events for the same age category.

• Non-CA member athletes are permitted to participate. They will be classed as a 1 Day CA Member. Additional fees will apply.
• Please refer to the technical regulations for the distance each age is required to run. Please register accordingly, athletes WILL NOT be able to participate in any other age groups.

Fees

Fees for this event are outlined as follows.

• U18 CA Members - $20.00
• U20 & Open CA Members - $30.00
• 1 Day U18 CA Members - $30.00
• 1 Day U20 & Open CA Members - $40.00

Registration 

• Opens: 9:00am, Monday, 17th of August 2026

• Closes: 9:00pm, Monday, 14th of September 2026

On-the-day entries will not be accepted. In order to avoid disappointment, we advise you to sign-up online in advance. 

Check-In & Bib Collection

• Online check-in will be used, you will receive correspondence via email or text message with a confirmation link.
• Championship bib will be issued on the day, club uniform (with age patch) must be worn.

Multi-Class & Para Events

• Multi-Class events will be offered. Specific information regarding para inclusion to be announced.
