2026/2027 Capital Athletics 3000m Championships

Event Overview

The 2026/2027 Capital Athletics 3000 Championships will be run as part of Summer Series Meet #4. This event serves as the official ACT state championship for the 3000m race. Open to both male and female competitiors above the age of 14, this event always attracts a significant representation of the ACT's best middle distance runners. See below for more information. 

Eligibility

Athletes must be:

• Registered and financial 2026/2027 members of a Capital Athletics member club, an Australian Athletics-affiliated club, a Little Athletics Australia-affiliated club, or a World Athletics-affiliated overseas club.

• Para athletes must have at least a Provisional Classification and cannot compete in both able-bodied and Para events for the same age category.

• Athletes must be 13 years old by the 31st of December in order to compete. Additionally, certain age eligibility rules may apply to specific events. 

Entry Fees

Entry fees for this event are outlined as follows.

U20 & Open CA All-Access Competition Members - $0.00

U20 & Open CA Standard Members - $30.00

U17 - U18 CA All-Access Competition Members - $0.00

U17 - U18 CA Standard Members - $30.00

Interstate Affiliated Athletes - $30.00

Online Entry

• Opens: 9:00am, Monday, 12th of October, 2026

• Closes: 9:00pm, Thursday, 12th of November, 2026

On-the-day entries WILL NOT be accepted. You MUST register online in advance.

Check-In & Bib Collection

• Online check-in will be used, you will receive correspondence via SMS or email with details on how to check-in.

• Competition bib and club uniform (with age patch) must be worn. A $10.00 administration fee will apply for lost or replacement competition bibs.

Multi-Class & Para Events

• There will be no Para 3000m Championship event. Para athletes are still permitted to enter eligible able-bodied races.
