Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) - Online

The Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) is an extension of the Recreational Running Coach (Level 1). 

It is designed for coaches who are interested in preparing athletes for long-distance running events, spanning 5 to 42kms (Marathon).

Advanced Recreational Running coaches primarily work with intermediate level runners aged 18 and above.

Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) Course Info

Course Details:

Cost for the Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) Online Course - $295.00

To obtain the accreditation you must:

Attend all online sessions detailed below:

Week 1: Sunday 1 November 2026, 5pm – 6:30pm
Week 2: Sunday 8 November 2026, 5pm – 6:30pm
Week 3: Sunday 15 November 2026, 5pm – 6:30pm
Week 4: Sunday 22 November 2026, 5pm – 6:30pm
Week 5: Sunday 29 November 2026, 5pm – 6:30pm

• Complete the Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) online modules
• Complete a short answer assessment.
• Complete the practical coaching assessment (signed off by an approved assessor).

Athletics Australia strongly recommends that the assessor supervises coach for the duration of a season (1 year) before signing off on the assessment.

Pre-requisites:

To gain the Advanced Recreational Running Coach (Level 2) accreditation, a coach must meet the following criteria:

• Be 16 years or older.
• Hold the Recreational Running Coach (Level 1).
