2026-2027 Season Membership FAQ
Capital Athletics is introducing important updates to memberships for the 2026–27 season to provide a simpler, more flexible experience for members and clubs.
These changes include a new membership year (mid July) to better align with Australian Athletics and our membership platform, as well as the introduction of a new All Access Competition Membership for athletes in the Under 11 age group and above.
This FAQ outlines what's changing, why these updates are being made, and what they mean for you.
Membership
The new membership dates align more closely with both Australian Athletics and our membership platform, RevolutioniseSport. This change will simplify annual membership administration, improve the registration and renewal process, reduce overlap of seasons, and create a more seamless experience for members and clubs each year.
As part of the transition to the new membership year, there will be a one-off adjustment period that results in a slightly shorter membership term for some members. We have carefully planned the change to minimise the impact and keep any reduction in membership time as small as possible.
From the 2026–27 season onwards, memberships will operate on the new annual cycle of mid July each year.
To recognise the shortened 2025–26 membership period, renewed members will receive free entry to the High Noon Series. To access this offer, members must register online for each event before entries close.
Memberships for the 2026–27 season will open on Monday 13 July 2026.
You can renew at any time from this date, however we encourage members to renew as early as possible to enjoy the full benefits of membership throughout the season.
Please note that all 2026–27 memberships will expire 12 July 2027, regardless of the date they are purchased. Renewing earlier will ensure you receive the maximum value from your membership.
There are three membership types which are explained in the table below:

The All Access Competition Membership is designed to provide strong value for athletes who compete regularly across the season.
For an additional $255 on top of your base membership, the All Access Competition
Membership includes access to competition fees valued at up to:
- $642.50 for Standard U11–U17 athletes
- $720 for Standard U18+ athletes
While every athlete’s competition mix will be different, the membership can quickly represent savings for athletes who compete regularly.
For example, an U11–U17 athlete would be ahead if they competed in:
- 2 High Noon meets
- 5 Summer Series meets
- Cross Country
- Combined Events Championships
- Junior Championships
For U18+ athletes, the value is also realised quickly through a regular competition schedule, such as:
- 2 High Noon meets
- 5 Summer Series meets
- Combined Events Championships
- Open and U20 Championships
This may not be the exact mix of competitions every athlete chooses, but it shows the potential savings available for athletes who compete frequently across the season.
Athletic Programs
The Tiny Tots Program is an introductory athletics program for children aged 3 to 5 years, designed to provide a fun and engaging first experience in athletics. Through play-based activities, children develop fundamental movement skills including running, jumping, throwing and walking while building confidence, coordination and a love of being active.
The program supports children's physical, social, emotional and cognitive development through age-appropriate activities in a positive and inclusive environment.
To be eligible, children must have celebrated their 3rd birthday before participating. The Tiny Tots season runs from October to March, alongside the Little Athletics season.
Little Athletics is a fun, inclusive athletics program for children aged 3 to 16 years, delivered by Capital Athletics across the ACT and surrounding NSW region. It provides children with the opportunity to develop fundamental movement skills through a variety of running, jumping, throwing and walking events, with activities modified to suit each age group and stage of development.
The Little Athletics season generally runs from October to March, with clubs holding weekly competition meets. Most ACT clubs and some NSW clubs compete on Saturday mornings, while a small number of NSW clubs hold meets on weekday evenings.
All clubs offer programs for Under 6 to Under 17 athletes, with some also providing a Tiny Tots program for children aged 3 to 5 years.
The focus of Little Athletics is on participation, skill development and having fun in a supportive environment. Athletes compete with others in their age group and are guided by dedicated age managers throughout each meet. As athletes progress through the age groups, they are introduced to additional events, such as high jump and triple jump, that are appropriate for their age and development.
Whether your child wants to improve their skills for another sport, stay active, or begin their athletics journey, Little Athletics offers an opportunity for everyone to learn, grow and enjoy the sport.
Para Athletics, also known as Multi-Class Athletics, provides athletes with a physical, intellectual or vision impairment the opportunity to participate in athletics in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Capital Athletics welcomes athletes of all abilities to train, compete and achieve their personal best. Multi-Class athletes can participate in a wide range of track and field events alongside other athletes, with competition opportunities available at club, state and national level. Events are conducted using classification systems to ensure fair and meaningful competition.
Whether you're new to athletics or an experienced competitor, Para Athletics offers opportunities to develop skills, build confidence, improve fitness and be part of a welcoming athletics community.
